Woman dies as liquor shop wall collapses in Karaikal

A 60-year-old woman was killed after a wall of a liquor shop collapsed on a roadside in Karaikal on Monday.

The police said the liquor outlet functioning in a building near the municipal marriage hall on Bharathiar Road was being shifted. On Monday forenoon, the front wall of the first floor crashed on the road. Junaitha Begum, 60, of Musthafa Kamal Street in Karaikal, who was walking along the road at the time, was trapped under the debris and died.
