The One Town police arrested a woman in connection with the gold jewellery theft case that occurred atop Indrakeeladri. The accused, K. Neeraja, of Visakhapatnam, allegedly stole ornaments from the hand bag of a woman devotee on the temple premises on March 6. The team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) N.S.V.K. Durga Rao, Circle Inspector B. Gunaram and Crime Inspector K. Raghunath, tracked the movements of the accused through surveillance cameras and arrested the woman, said Additional DCP G. Ramakrishna. Police seized gold ornaments worth nearly ₹18 lakh from her possession, the ADCP said.
