A 30-year-old woman and her five-and-a-half-year-old son were found dead inside their house at Ambalakkavu in Adat, Thrissur, on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Shilpa, wife of Mohith of Kanat House, and her son, Akshijith, a UKG student of Amala Mary Rani School. According to preliminary findings, Shilpa is believed to have killed her son before taking her own life. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed. Mohith, a private bank employee, was sleeping in another room at the time of the incident, reportedly due to fever and cold. His parents were also present in the house. The deaths came to light only in the morning. Police sources said a suicide voice note stored on Shilpa’s mobile phone has been recovered and is being examined as part of the investigation. Shilpa was reportedly preparing for PSC examinations. The police have reached the spot and initiated further legal procedures.
