HYDERABAD Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in-charge of Rajendranagar constituency P. Karthik Reddy has stated that the Southern Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has not dismissed his petition on the Musi Riverfront Project but has disposed it since the State government has submitted that everything about the project is in the initial (application) stage. In a statement, Mr. Karthik Reddy said on Saturday that the State government had submitted to NGT that it would take the project forward only after completing all formalities. The tribunal has suggested the petitioner (him) to approach it later in case the government fails to keep its word. He stated that his petition has made the government inform NGT of doing certain things which were not even mentioned by it in the Assembly. He would approach the tribunal again if the government failed to implement any of the submission made before it (tribunal). Meanwhile, 50 teams of BRS Vidyarthi have taken to a visit of areas along the Musi river course till April 14. Party leaders T. Srinivas Yadav, Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy and others flagged off the teams. They would find out actual conditions along the river course, the views of people living there about the project proposed by the government and explain the government plans of exploitation.
