YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday vowed to pursue all legal and constitutional avenues, including approaching the Supreme Court and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), to expose the “Jungle Raj of the coalition government” and the “false propaganda on the Tirumala laddu issue.”

Speaking to the media after visiting former MLA Jogi Ramesh at his residence at Ibrahimpatnam, which had allegedly been attacked by the TDP cadres recently, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed that a court-monitored CBI investigation had “conclusively established that there is no animal fat in the ghee used for preparing the Tirumala laddu,” contrary to the claims made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

“The CBI charge-sheet, supported by reports from two Central laboratories, does not name any YSRCP leader, nor has found any wrongdoing,” the former Chief Minister claimed. “It clearly states that the four ghee tankers in question have been rejected by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) during Mr. Naidu’s earlier tenure, which have returned from another company. The facts mentioned in the CBI report will prevail,” he asserted.

Dismissing the one-man commission constituted to probe the issue further as an eyewash, he said it would not withstand legal scrutiny.

Alleging a systematic pattern of violence against the YSRCP leaders, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the houses of former MLA Ambati Rambabu and Mr. Jogi Ramesh were attacked, with TDP cadres acting in tandem with the police. He alleged that petrol bombs and acid bottles were hurled at Mr. Ramesh’s house when his aged father was alone.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy also alleged misuse of the legal system, claiming 24 cases were foisted against Mr. Ramesh, with additional cases filed after his son entered politics, including one against his wife.

Accusing the Chief Minister and TDP leaders of dragging faith into politics, the YSRCP chief said “civil society is hanging its head in shame over the prevailing situation, and added that “justice may be delayed, but it will not be denied. All those responsible will be brought to book.”
