Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar on Wednesday warned BJP MLAs and leaders that strict action would be taken under the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) if they obstruct garbage disposal operations in Bengaluru. He said that if the obstruction continues, garbage will be dumped in front of their houses. Responding to questions about the obstruction at Mahadevapura, he alleged that some MLAs were blackmailing the government for funds while opposing waste disposal in their constituencies. He named former Minister Arvind Limbavali and Doddaballapur MLA Dheeraj Muniraju, accusing them of pressuring the government.
