The wife of late Padma Shri awardee, R. Krishnan, an Adivasi artist from Kotagiri, was given a permanent job at a tribal residential school in The Nilgiris, with the district administration also arranging for the education of his four children. In a press release, the district administration said that Mr. Krishnan’s wife, Suseela, was given an appointment order as a permanent gardener at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Muthorai Palada in The Nilgiris. The appointment order was arranged as per the orders of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin, with Ms. Suseela receiving a monthly salary of ₹32,000. She will also be eligible for salary increments, leave benefits and other allowances applicable to State government employees, while she will also be provided government quarters on the campus. Mr. Krishnan’s eldest daughter has also been granted admission to a private college in Udhagamandalam with hostel facilities, and will be assured free education till the completion of her degree. His three youngest children have also been enrolled in the Model Residential School in Muthorai Palada, it was announced.
