Commuters travelling between Madhapur, Kaithalapur and Kukatpally are set to face traffic disruptions for a week as Cyberabad traffic police announced the closure of a key stretch of IDL Lake Road from January 31 for allowing repair works on a damaged trunk sewer line. According to a traffic advisory, the road from Madhapur and Kaithalapur towards Kukatpally Y-Junction via IDL Lake Road will remain closed round the clock for seven days to enable repair works and prevent further deterioration of the carriageway. The police said congestion is expected on the affected corridor and urged motorists to use alternative routes during the repair period. Vehicles coming from Madhapur towards Kukatpally Y-Junction have been advised to proceed via Yashoda Hospital, take the road over the railway overbridge, make a U-turn after the junction and then head towards Kukatpally Y-Junction. As an alternative, commuters can travel from Yashoda Hospital towards Kaithalapur, continue via Rainbow Vista and proceed straight towards Moosapet before taking a left turn to reach Kukatpally Y-junction. Officials said the measures are aimed at ensuring commuter safety while allowing seamless execution of the repair works. The public has been requested to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with the traffic police to maintain smooth flow of vehicles in the surrounding areas.
