The Future Career Conversations series, jointly organised by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology and The Hindu, will feature a panel discussion on federalism on Sunday (March 1, 2026). This hybrid panel discussion series is for students and working professionals who want to deepen their expertise across a range of subjects. The second webinar in this series, titled “Constitution Under the Microscope: Federalism, Free Speech and the Indian Republic”, is open to online participants on March 1 at 11.30 a.m. Amid the growing debate on federalism, freedom of expression, and institutional balance, the session aims to examine key constitutional principles, their contemporary interpretations, and their impact on the functioning of the Indian Republic. To frame the discussion, A. Vinay Kumar, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Science & Humanities, Law and Management), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, and P. Sree Sudha, Dean, SRM School of Law, will deliver special addresses. The panel will feature Sumana Vedanth, Associate Professor, SRM School of Law, Suhrith Parthasarathy, advocate, Madras High Court, and Akila R. S., advocate and independent researcher.
