Ahead of World TB Day, The Hindu will conduct a free public webinar on Friday, March 20, 2026, on the topic “World TB Day: Towards Patient-Centric and Tech-Enabled TB Care.” The webinar will be held from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

The session will focus on the evolving landscape of tuberculosis care, highlighting the importance of patient-centred approaches, community engagement and the growing role of technology in TB diagnosis, treatment adherence and monitoring.

The discussion will look into how India’s tuberculosis response is adapting through digital tools, improved diagnostics and data-driven programmes. It will also address the lived experiences of people affected by tuberculosis, the need to reduce stigma, and the importance of ensuring that policies and programmes respond to the needs of patients and vulnerable communities.

Expert panellists include Ramya Ananthakrishnan, director of REACH (Resource Group for Education and Advocacy for Community Health); Rhea Lobo, tuberculosis survivor and former board member of the Community Delegation to the Stop TB Partnership; and Animesh Sinha, advisor with Médecins Sans Frontières.

The session will be moderated by Serena Josephine M., Special Correspondent, The Hindu.
