Residents in parts of north Chennai will now receive improved drinking water supply as additional overhead and underground tanks have been constructed for storage and distribution.

Municipal Administration Minister K.N. Nehru and Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P. K. Sekarbabu inaugurated the project on Friday. About 70,000 residents in George Town, Clive Battery, and Mannady would benefit from the ₹27.50-crore project. An underground storage tank with 15 lakh litre capacity constructed at Davidson Street, Broadway was inaugurated on Friday.
