The Forest Department has started filling troughs in Ulandy forest range of the Anamalai Tiger Reserve (ATR) to ensure water for wild animals in the summer. ATR is home to the popular tourist destination Top Slip.

According to the department, several natural streams within ATR have dried up, leading to reduced water availability in the forest areas. To remedy this, troughs in the range were being regularly replenished with water, said officials.
