Opposition parties led by the Congress have moved a no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging partisan conduct. The Speaker has asked officials to correct procedural defects in the notice and decided not to preside over House proceedings until the matter is settled. The revised notice is expected to be taken up in the second phase of the Budget Session.
