Tamil Nadu’s first Wildlife Transit and Treatment Centre has become operational at Pethikuttai in the Sirumugai forest range near Coimbatore. Built at ₹19.5 crore across 21 acres, the facility includes modern treatment units, quarantine zones and animal enclosures. It will focus on the treatment and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wild animals, before releasing them back into the wild.
