In view of the upcoming Assembly elections, officials have intensified the voter awareness campaign in central districts.

The initiatives were conducted under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign to highlight the importance of voting and to promote electoral participation.

At the Tiruchi Collectorate, Collector V. Saravanan inaugurated the campaign by signing a voter awareness banner and appealed to the public to ensure 100% voter turnout. Members of women’s self-help groups created rangoli designs carrying messages on the importance of voting.

A pledge was administered to citizens, urging them to uphold democratic values and cast their votes without fear or influence based on caste, religion, language, or inducements. Later, a voter awareness rally was flagged off from the Collectorate and concluded at Central Bus Stand. Participants carried placards bearing slogans such as ‘Voting is your right’ and ‘Your vote is your future.’

Similar awareness programmes were held in Aranthangi Assembly Constituency in Pudukottai district.

Collector M. Aruna urged voters to participate in large numbers to strengthen democracy.

The constituency has a total of 2,27,588 voters, and special efforts are being made to ensure full participation. Human chain rallies and sand art displays were organised along the Mimisal coastal areas as part of promoting voter awareness.

In Perambalur, Collector N. Mirunalini released a massive balloon carrying voter awareness messages. She later inspected arrangements at a supermarket where audio messages on voting awareness were being broadcast to customers. She also reviewed the initiative of printing election date reminders and awareness messages on purchase bills issued to customers.
