The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has set up four-member committees in all 64 wards under its jurisdiction to address the stray dog menace in the city, said Commissioner Dhyanachandra H.M. The VMC Commissioner, in a press release, said the committees are headed by Sanitary Inspectors and include animal lovers, members of resident welfare associations, and city residents. He added that the committees would work towards controlling stray dog menace and look into other related issues. The Commissioner has urged residents to bring any stray dog-related issues to the attention of the committee members, who will take necessary action to resolve them.
