The city’s famous Biodiversity Park, which has been a sanctuary for nature lovers for 25 years, received high praise from officials on Thursday for its role in protecting rare plants and educating thousands of students, at a two-day workshop on Biodiversity, and release of silver jubilee souvenir.

Dolphin Nature Conservation Society (DNCS), which maintains the park in collaboration with VMRDA and RCD Government Hospital, organised the workshop.

Speaking at the park, VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner N. Tej Bharath, noted that the facility has earned a special reputation not just in Visakhapatnam, but also among students from neighbouring States and is considered a premier destination for environmental learning.

The Commissioner thanked the dedicated team behind the park’s success, including Rammurthy of DNCS and several other members who have worked tirelessly for decades. He assured the organisers that the VMRDA would continue to provide full support for the park’s development and encouraged them to look into establishing even more green spaces like this across the region.
