The Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) has launched a citizen-driven initiative titled ‘Vision Mysuru–2050’ under the theme ‘Ink Your Ideas,’ aiming to chart a strategic roadmap for the city’s development over the next 25 years. Sharing details of the initiative to mediapersons here on Saturday, Sunil M.V., Assistant Professor at SDMIMD, said the initiative is the brainchild of Dr. (Lt. Col.) Prasad S.N., Director of the institute. The three-day summit of the initiative will be held from March 14 to 16, in collaboration with the Mysuru Grahakara Parishat, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Mysuru zone, and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Mysuru chapter. “Vision Mysuru–2050 builds upon earlier planning efforts by placing the city’s future in the hands of its youth. Conceived as a continuous civic movement, the initiative seeks to transform local observations into structured, evidence-based proposals that will be refined into an actionable roadmap. The outcome will be a comprehensive White Paper to be submitted to district authorities to guide policy and implementation,” he explained. Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Chairman of SDM Educational Trust, will be the brand ambassador of the initiative. He emphasised the need for foresight, civic responsibility and collective participation in shaping Mysuru’s future. M.S. Shrivathsa, student coordinator, SDMIMD said, “The initiative focuses on key areas including urban infrastructure and mobility, environmental sustainability, economic development, digital governance, education and healthcare, heritage conservation, social equity, disaster resilience, tourism and culture.” Participation is open to citizens, students, professionals and NGOs. Proposals can be submitted through the official portal, with the deadline set for March 10. Interested individuals and collaborative teams can register and formally submit their proposals via the official portal – https://www.visionmysuru2050.in/submit. Shrigouri Joshi, public relation officer, SDMIMD, student coordinators H.R. Badrinath and R. Thejas were present.
