Former World youth champions Vishvanath Suresh (50kg) and Sachin Siwach (60kg) won their respective bouts to move into the quarterfinals of the Asian boxing championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Wednesday (April 1, 2026). Vishvanath relied on his ring craft to get past Kyrgyzstan’s Bekzat Ergeshov 5-0 and set up a last-eight clash with Kazakhstan’s reigning World champion Sanzhar Tashkenbay. Second-seeded Sachin boxed confidently to earn a 4-1 verdict against Mongolia’s Buyandalai Bayarkhuu. He will meet Chinese Taipei’s Cheng-Wei Lee next.
