This landmark achievement represents a 10.35% growth over the previous year’s record of 82.62 MMT, firmly establishing VPA as a leader among India’s major ports, said VPA chairperson M. Angamuthu. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, he said that the surge was driven by a 42% increase in fertiliser shipments and a 13% rise in oil and crude handling.
