Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) P. Narayana said that the Visakhapatnam Metro Rail Project is currently under examination by the Central government. A consultancy firm is conducting a study on the project and the process is expected to be completed within two months. Following this, steps will be taken to expedite the project with the aim of completing the metro system within three years, he added. Addressing the media as part of a regional workshop under the Urban Investment Window (UWIN) programme in Visakhapatnam on Sunday (March 15, 2025), Mr. Narayana said that steps are being taken to develop a semi-ring road for the city on the lines of the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad.
