The Visakha Valley School hosted Sankranthi celebrations on Thursday. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the school principal I. Eswari Prabhakar. In her speech, the principal highlighted that festivals and traditions are of great importance, and people have a significant responsibility to pass them on to the younger generation, which is why the school is celebrating this festival with great fervour. Not only students, but also teachers and parents value traditions. Students entertained the audience through classical and folk dances, portraying the eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi. Kites were flown, and rangoli competitions were held. The traditional dish `Pongali’ was prepared and children were blessed with the traditional offering of ‘Bogi Pallu’.
