Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath and Gudivada MLA Venigandla Ramu on Friday launched the distribution of new Pattadar passbooks featuring the official State emblem and land ownership documents to farmers at Siddhantam village in the Gudivada Assembly constituency as part of the re-survey project. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sivanath said the TDP-led coalition government was rectifying the mistakes committed by the previous government, while laying due emphasis on both development and welfare. He said the Pattadar passbooks contain complete ownership details and, with the State emblem printed on them, give people a greater sense of security. He criticised the YSR Congress Party for creating chaos during its tenure and leaving farmers to fend for themselves, and asserted that the re-survey would put an end to land disputes permanently and enable farmers to easily access bank loans and government schemes. Mr. Ramu criticised YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for having his photographs printed on people’s private property documents, calling it an example of the former Chief Minister’s obsession with self-publicity. He said that in the Gudivada constituency alone, the government is distributing 25,000 Pattadar passbooks free of charge till January 9. Gudivada RDO Balasubramanyam, Jana Sena Party in-charge Buragadda Srikanth, Market Yard Chairman Ch. Ravikumar, Mandal TDP president V. Murali and others were present.
