Veeramani on Thursday said the Election Commission (EC) had gone beyond its limits by transferring the Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police of Tamil Nadu. In a statement issued in Chennai, he said fear of defeat had gripped the BJP and that the EC had been resorting to measures to create a favourable climate for its victory. Mr. Veeramani alleged that the EC was transferring officials only in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, and not in Assam (A BJP-ruled State). “People of the country are losing their faith in the EC because of its activities in favour of the BJP. However, it has not given any proper explanation for its actions,” he added.
