Priests performing ‘Snapana Thirumanjanam’ to the deities on the final day of the annual Vasanthotsavams in Tirumala on Wednesday.

The annual three-day Vasanthotsavams concluded on a grand note on Wednesday at the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala.

‘Snapana Tirumanjanam’ was rendered to the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy, Goddess Sridevi and Goddess Bhudevi, Lord Kodandarama and Goddess Sita Devi, Lakshmana Swamy, Lord Anjaneya Swamy, and Goddess Rukmini and Lord Sri Krishna ceremoniously amid the recitation of hymns by Veda Parayanamdars.

The Vasanthotsavam is an annual event performed in Tirumala on the auspicious days of Trayodasi, Chaturdasi and Pournami in the month of Chaitra (March/April) every year to mark the onset of spring season.

The utsava deities of Lord Malayappa and His consorts were given aromatic bath on these three days, believed to give a soothing relief to the deities from the scorching Sun. On the last days, the deities of three aeons, Treta, Dwapara and Kaliyuga were rendered aromatic bath.

The temple’s Pedda Jeeyar, along with his deputy Chinna Jeeyar, Peishkar Rama Krishna and other officials took part in the festival.
