VAO’s house burgled – The Hindu

Burglars have stolen gold jewellery worth ₹15 lakh from the house of a Village Administrative Officer (VAO).

The police said burglars, who entered the house of Tharuvaikulam VAO Marimuthu, 44, at Santhosh Nagar near Pudukottai when he and his wife Gousalya, 37, an Assistant Professor with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, had gone out, burgled 12 sovereigns of gold jewellery in the bureau.

When the couple returned home on Tuesday, they found that the valuables worth ₹15 lakh had been burgled.

Based on a complaint from Mr. Marimuthu, the Pudukottai police have registered a case.
