The laboratory, dedicated to excellence in Ayurvedic medical research and quality control, was opened by Managing Director and Senior Ayurvedic Physician Ramesh R. Varier. In his address, he stated that the laboratory was equipped with a new instrument called Inductively Coupled Plasma– Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES). “This is a highly powerful analytical technique capable of simultaneously analysing multiple elements. It is used to accurately detect and quantify trace elements present in various samples, especially liquid samples,” he added. “In this technique, atoms and ions present in Ayurvedic medicine samples are excited to a higher energy state. When they return to their stable state, they emit light at specific characteristic wavelengths. By measuring the intensity of this emitted light, the nature and concentration of the elements present are determined,” Dr. Ramesh Varrier stated. This advanced system enables the analysis of heavy metals in Ayurvedic medicine samples using modern instrumentation and ensures compliance with international regulatory standards. He expressed happiness that, through this advancement, all products of the company would be analysed to meet global quality standards. The event was further graced by the presence of Director and Senior Ayurvedic Physician Sridevi Rajeev R. Varier, Director Latha Ramesh, among others.
