Unidentified man killed in hit-and-run near Miyapur

An unidentified man aged about 50 was killed in a suspected hit-and-run incident near Miyapur in Hyderabad in the early hours of Wednesday (February 11).

According to police, the incident was reported around 3 a.m. on the stretch from Miyapur to Lingampally, when a tipper vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene. Local residents shifted the injured man to a nearby private hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Miyapur police personnel subsequently shifted the body to the Gandhi Hospital for postmortem. Efforts are under way to identify the deceased and trace the vehicle involved in the accident.
