A two-year-old child died, and her parents were injured after their car overturned in Amparu village, on the Kundapur – Shivamogga State Highway, on Saturday. The Shankaranarayana Police said the child, Ayanya, was in the car with her mother, Tulasi and her father, Raghavendra Achar, who was driving the vehicle. They were on their way to Siddapura. Near Balkat in Amparu village, Mr. Achar lost control of the car. The vehicle overturned after hitting the roadside drain. Onlookers arranged to quickly shift all three injured persons to a private hospital in Kundapur, where Ayanya succumbed to the injuries. The police have registered a case against Mr. Achar for offences punishable under Sections 281, 125(a), and 106 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
