Police arrested two women for allegedly stealing silver anklets from a jewellery shop in Nandyal town on Wednesday. According to police, two women stole 17 tola of silver anklets from HM Jewellery in Nandyal town on the afternoon of February 12, having entered the shop under the pretext of making a purchase. Based on a complaint, police checked CCTV footages and nabbed the two on Wednesday from RTC bus stand in Nandyal. They also recovered the 17 tola silver anklets from the duo. The arrested were identified as Vemula Jyothi and Vemula Narasamma of Boyapalli village in Vayalpad mandal in Madanapalle district. Police said that the duo were also allegedly involved in property offence cases in Nellore and Tirupati areas. Meanwhile, police suggested business and commercial establishments to istall high-resolution CCTVs in their premises for safety and security.
