Two special teams formed in Erode to nab accused in murder case

The district police have formed two special teams to nab those involved in the murder of a 44-year-old financier in the city on Sunday (March 22, 2026).

Udhayakumar, a resident of Mohan Kumaramangalam Street in Surampatti, was running a finance firm on Chinnamuthu Street. Police said he had gone to his office as usual on Sunday. Around 3.25 p.m., while riding his motorcycle along Chinnamuthu Street, he was intercepted by two unidentified persons on a two-wheeler. The assailants, who were wearing helmets and masks, attacked him with a knife.
