Two school students drown in Kannampalayam tank near Coimbatore

Two school students aged 11 drowned in Kannampalayam tank near Sulur in Coimbatore district on Thursday. The police said R. Sujit Kumar and Y. Pradosh, friends and residents of T.V.K Nagar at Kannampalayam, were found dead in the tank.

According to the police, the boys were Class VI students of a school near Ondipudur. As classes for the duo on Thursday were scheduled in the afternoon owing to ongoing examinations for Class XII students, they went out around 9 a.m. to play in the locality. Parents grew anxious and began searching for them at different places as they did not return home by noon, to go to the school. As the searches were on, families of the two boys came to know that they were found dead in Kannampalayam tank.
