The passenger vehicle that overturned after colliding with a motorcycle whose riders were killed near Alhal village in Shorapur taluk on Thursday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Two motorcyclists were killed on the spot in a road accident near Alhal village in Shorapur taluk on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Basavaraj and 40-year-old Chandappa. Both were natives of Gogi village in Shahapur taluk. The accident occurred when the motorcycle in which they were travelling collided with a passenger van coming from the opposite direction. The impact was such that the van got overturned. The deceased were said to be going to Tumbagi village to attend a marriage. Police sources said that the reason for the accident is yet to be ascertained as investigation is under way. A case has been registered in the Kembhavi Police Station.
