Ambattur Prohibition Enforcement Wing conducted surveillance near Korattur railway station and arrested two men who smuggled ganja from Odisha. During the operation, the police detained the duo who were moving suspiciously in the area and conducted an inquiry. On searching them based on suspicion, the police found that they were in possession of 31.5 kg of ganja. The ganja was seized and the accused were arrested and taken to the police station for further investigation. The accused were identified as Prakash Majhi (19) of Odisha and Manikandan (20) of Tirunelveli district. Investigation revealed that they had procured the 31.5 kg of ganja from an unidentified person in Odisha with the intention of selling it. Meanwhile, Kilambakkam Police of Tambaram City Police has arrested two men who smuggled banned tobacco products from another state and seized 1,100 kilos of contraband from them. The police intercepted the vehicle which were transporting on the service road near Kilambakkam bus stand and the arrested men have been identified as Bathru Jaman, 58 of Singapermal Koil and K.Karthik, 23 of Tenkasi district.
