Two Maoists from Abujhmad Divisional Committee Area, Chhattisgarh on Wednesday surrendered before Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar at Paderu in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The maoists were identified as Kaditi Hidme alias Anju alias Karuna, Divisional Committee Member (DCM) and Badse Bheema alias Maneesh, Area Committee Member (ACM) Addressing a press conference at the district police office, Paderu on Wednesday, SP Amit Bardar said that Kaditi Hidme was involved in three incidents of Exchange of Fire (EOF) with security forces, and Badse Bheema was involved in one incident of EOF. The SP said that Hidme joined the Balala Sangham in 2010. In 2012, she was promoted as Dalam Member and transferred to Abujhmad DVC. In 2020, she was promoted as Area Committee Member and again in 2024 she was promoted as DCM. Badse Bheema, joined as Militia member in 2018 and was promoted as Party Member in 2019. In November 2024 he was promoted as the ACM. Mr Amit Bardar said that the intensified police operations, establishment of new police camps in Maoist-affected areas have lead to the restriction of their movement and instilled a fear of survival leading to their surrender. Additionally, there has been declining public support for Maoists, loss of faith in ideology, repeated encounters led to the deaths of Maoist leaders, and weakening of the organisation’s operational strength. He further added that many Maoists are attracted to the government’s rehabilitation policies, including employment opportunities, development initiatives and attractive surrender benefits offered by the Andhra Pradesh government—financial assistance, land, employment, and welfare schemes. The SP appealed to the surrendered Maoists to utilise the government welfare and rehabilitation schemes and lead a peaceful life with dignity. He assured that all eligible benefits would be provided promptly and emphasised skill development through government-sponsored training programmes. He further urged other Maoist cadres to voluntarily surrender at the nearest police station or approach senior police officials directly or through family members.
