The police are conducting a search to nab six unidentified persons who brutally attacked two labourers who were sleeping in the Koyambedu vegetable market on the early hours of Sunday. The city police said Shankar and Shanmugan, both natives of the Villupuram district, were working as daily wage labourers in Koyambedu vegetable market. The duo after finishing their work, went to sleep in front of a vegetable shop located in ‘C’ Block. At around 1 a.m. on Sunday, as they were fast asleep, a gang of six individuals arrived at the spot and assaulted them with broken glass bottles.
