The Tiruvottiyur police have arrested two men for robbing a worker at knife point. Two juveniles, aged 16 and 17, involved in the incident were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and four knives used in the crime were seized. According to police, Pandian, 49, a daily wage labourer from Thazhankuppam Bazaar Street in Ennore, had gone to work on March 17. While he was walking near the Mattumandhai flyover in Tiruvottiyur that night, he was intercepted by four persons who demanded money. When he refused, the group allegedly assaulted him and threatened him with four knives before robbing ₹1,200 from his shirt pocket. They also issued death threats before fleeing the scene.
