According to Forest Department officials, on March 16, 2026, a two-year-old female spotted deer was rescued from the Mettupalayam Forest Range with an injury to its hind leg after getting entangled in a PVC pipe. The animal was shifted to the facility, where veterinary doctors provided treatment, and it has since been placed in a designated enclosure for herbivores under continuous monitoring.
