Two die in a head-on collision in Hassan

Two bike riders died following a head-on collision on Hassan-Belur Road near Hassan in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh, 28, of Guddenahalli, Hassan taluk and Mayur, 24, a resident of Hassan town.

Rakesh’s father, Range Gowda, in his complaint to Hassan Traffic Police, stated that his son was returning home from Hassan when he was hit by another bike coming from the opposite direction. He was taken to the government hospital in the city, where he was declared dead.

Mayur, who suffered serious injuries in the incident, also succumbed.
