The K.K. Nagar police have arrested two youths for rash riding, and seized their two-wheeler.

According to the police, Murugan, 47, of Arcot Road in Virugambakkam, complained that while he was walking on Ramasamy Road and Ponnambalam Road in K.K. Nagar around 11 a.m. on Sunday, the two individuals rode past him at high speed, performed wheelies, and drove recklessly, posing a threat to pedestrians. When Murugan questioned them, they allegedly abused him and rode the vehicle towards him, as if to hit him, before fleeing the spot.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the accused — Akash, 21, of K.K. Nagar, and Deepak, 20, of West K.K. Nagar — on the same day.

The Greater Chennai Police warned of strict action against motorists who engage in rash riding and wheelies, or act in any way that endangers public safety and disrupts traffic.
