Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) high-level administrative committee chief coordinator K.A. Sengottaiyan on Thursday (March 12, 2026) said the party would contest from all 234 Assembly constituencies in the State and create history in the ensuing Assembly election.

Addressing mediapersons after a party demonstration organised in Erode to condemn the alleged deterioration in law and order situation in the State, Mr. Sengottaiyan said the party leadership would identify candidates for all 234 constituencies.

Dismissing speculation about the party holding alliance talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he alleged certain television channels and newspapers were publishing misleading reports about the party. “Our leader had already pointed out three days ago that false news was being circulated,” he said.

Mr. Sengottaiyan said the demonstration was held on the instructions of TVK president Vijay. “The protest was announced only yesterday, yet such a large crowd has gathered today. No one can stop the TVK from forming the government in the State,” he said.

Referring to announcements made by the party leader on International Women’s Day, he said 10 initiatives had been unveiled with the aim of establishing a corruption-free government, safeguarding workers’ welfare, and ensuring the safety of women.
