Truck laden with LPG cylinders overturns; mishap averted

Tension prevailed in Nandini Layout after a lorry carrying domestic gas cylinders overturned on Friday, triggering panic among locals.

The incident occurred when the truck loaded with domestic LPG cylinders lost control.

Emergency response teams rushed to the spot immediately and took swift measures to ensure that there was no gas leakage. Their timely action helped avert a major mishap.

The lorry driver sustained injuries and was provided medical attention.

The accident also caused damage to the rear portion of a car nearby. Meanwhile, two two-wheeler riders had a miraculous escape. The CCTV footage showed that the riders narrowly escaped coming under the lorry as the vehicle overturned within seconds of their passing.

A case has been registered at the Rajajinagar Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is under way.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially while transporting hazardous materials in the city limits.
