Rich tributes were paid to Telugu poetess Kavayitri Molla on her 586th birth anniversary in Tirupati on Friday (March 13, 2026).

Members of social and cultural organisations, artistes led by ‘Rayalaseema Rangasthali’ and litterateurs led by Molla statue committee chairman Venkata Kesavulu Wodeyar garlanded Molla’s statue and recalled her contribution to the enrichment of Telugu language.

Andhra Pradesh Yadava Welfare Corporation chairman G. Narasimha Yadav and Rayalaseema Rangasthali chairman Gundala Gopinath Reddy explained how her ‘Molla Ramayanam’, written in colloquial style, brought the epic to the reach of the common public. The speakers also noted that her literature focussed on perpetuating devotion and social values.
