Vijayakumar is handling the prosecution while Jacob Mathew represents the defence. The accused, Chenthamara, remained expressionless as proceedings began. Judge Kenneth George ordered his transfer from the high-security Thrissur prison to the District Jail at Malampuzha for the duration of the trial.
