Minister for Transport Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy inaugurated the twin facilities. Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasada Rao, Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan, Puthalapattu MLA Kalikiri Murali Mohan, and District Collector Sumit Kumar were also present. Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said that the project has been implemented with the support of Apollo Hospitals and Apollo University, aiming to bring advanced medical infrastructure to the government hospital. He said the initiative reflects the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to make quality healthcare accessible to economically weaker sections. He said that nearly ₹2.5 crore had been spent to equip the hospital with modern facilities comparable to those of corporate hospitals, ensuring that poor patients receive advanced treatment without a financial burden. In critical cases, arrangements are also being made to refer patients to corporate hospitals in Chennai and Bengaluru when required. Collector Sumit Kumar said that the trauma care centre will play a crucial role in providing immediate treatment to accident victims and other emergency patients in the region. The upgraded emergency department has been designed with a triage system, categorising patients into red, yellow, and green zones for faster medical response. The Collector said that the facility has been equipped with 60 beds for emergency care with advanced ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring systems, digital X-ray facilities, and point-of-care testing capabilities. A dedicated operating theatre has also been established within the emergency block to enable immediate surgical intervention when necessary, he added.
