A State-level training programme on manufacturing a range of value-added products with cow dung and urine commenced at the Vishwa Maanava Vedhika Ashram at Vedangi in Poduru mandal of West Godavari district.

Mr. Ramji of Grama Vikasa Goseva, an NGO working to promote value-added products sourced from cows, claimed that cows have the potential to offer solutions to many challenges, including combating depleting soil fertility.

“The cow supports economic activity in the villages. Apart from milk and milk-based products, cow dung and urine are alternatives to many chemical products and fertilizers,” said Mr. Ramji.

Vishwa Maanava Vedhika Ashram founder and natural farmer Mallula Suresh who is an expert in cow-based natural farming and value-based products said: “The training session will equip participants to manufacture products with cow dung and urine. The products include incense sticks, dolls, chemical-free soaps, and powder used to improve soil fertility.”

Mr. Suresh said that value-based products have a great demand in the Godavari region and small towns. District coordinator Chintakula Gopala Krishna, Chelluboyina Muralikrishna and Dr. Gnaneswari along with local farmers attended the session.
