Traffic restrictions will be in force for two days in parts of Suraram in connection with the Kattamaisamma Jathara, the Cyberabad traffic police said on February 7. The restrictions will apply from 5 a.m. on February 8 to 11.30 p.m. on February 9 under the limits of the Jeedimetla Traffic Police Station. To ensure smooth conduct of the jathara and prevent congestion, the police said movement of heavy vehicles would be regulated and diverted on select routes during the period. Heavy vehicles travelling from Balanagar towards Gandimaisamma will be diverted at the JETL industrial area and routed via Dulapally road, taking a left turn at Bahadurpally crossroads before proceeding towards Gandimaisamma. Similarly, heavy vehicles moving from Gandimaisamma crossroads towards Balanagar will be diverted at Bahadurpally junction, routed through Dulapally village junction, and then directed towards the industrial area via JETL Kaman, Shapurnagar and Balanagar. The traffic police appealed to commuters, especially heavy vehicle drivers, to follow the advisory, plan their travel in advance and cooperate with personnel on duty to ensure free flow of traffic during the festive period.
