Traffic police relocate Ashoka tree to ease congestion at Trimulgherry bus stand

The Hyderabad Traffic Police relocated an Ashoka tree near Satyan Petrol Pump in Trimulgherry on December 31 to ease traffic congestion and ensure commuter safety, while preserving the city’s green cover. The tree had been obstructing the bus bay of the recently shifted bus stand, with its location and overgrown branches hindering smooth vehicular movement in the area.

After obtaining necessary permissions from the authorities concerned, the decision to relocate the tree was taken instead of removing it. Acting on the instructions of Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar and under the supervision of senior traffic officials, the tree was carefully shifted to the premises of the ITI College at Alwal with the assistance of relevant departments.

Traffic police officials said the relocation has significantly improved traffic flow around the bus stand and reduced congestion at the junction. Steps will also be taken to ensure the healthy re-growth of the transplanted tree at its new location, underscoring the department’s effort to balance environmental protection with public safety and efficient traffic management.
