Traffic hit as vehicle catches fire on Tirumala ghat road

A private vehicle went up in flames on the second ghat road leading to Tirumala on Thursday, causing disruption in traffic movement. No casualty was reported.

Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, preliminary reports suggest that overheating of the vehicle’s battery might have caused the fire.

Upon information, the fire services personnel rushed to the spot and acted swiftly to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby vehicles. The fire was brought under control after their prompt intervention.

Meanwhile, there was a major disruption in the traffic, which left hundreds of vehicles stranded on the busy ghat road. It took more than a hour for the restoration of traffic.
