The office bearers of the Tamilnadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peravai (TVSP) met Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik at the Secretariat on Friday and gave a petition requesting that traders should not be harassed during the upcoming 2026 Assembly election in the State. A.M. Vikramaraja, president of the traders’ body, after meeting the CEO told the media the traders should not be harassed unnecessarily and should be allowed to carry articles or cash worth ₹5 lakh after the election code of conduct comes into effect. Particularly the election officials should not seize any food articles or items worth ₹5 lakh.
